Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a condition that affects a woman's emotions, physical health, and behaviour during certain days of the menstrual cycle, generally just before her menstrual cycle. PMS is a very common condition. Its symptoms affect more than 90 percent of menstruating women. PMS symptoms start 5 to 11 days before menstruation and typically go away once menstruation begins. The cause of PMS is unknown.

Symptoms of PMS include abdominal bloating and pain, sore breasts, emotional outbursts, acne, food cravings, anxiety, depression, sadness, headaches, amongst others. Although you cannot cure PMS, you can take steps to ease your symptoms.
