Policosanol is a mixture of oils from Cuban cane sugar, touted as a cholesterol lowering agent. It has been used frequently to treat high cholesterol levels, and several studies claim that it does so with a potency rivalling statin therapy. It has also been said to lower blood pressure and prevent blood clotting.
