Thompson's Gel-Free Flaxseed Oil 1000mg 200cap
Flax Seed Oil is a rich source of valuable Omega 3, providing 60% Alpha Linolenic Acid (Omega 3), 20% Linoleic Acid (Omega 6) and 20% Oleic Acid (Omega 9). Flax was traditionally grown for its fibre, which was woven into linen cloth. Its seeds were used for linseed oil.
Thompson’s Flax Seed Oil is extracted by ‘cold-pressing’, the mechanical extraction of the oil from the seed, at a temperature less than 50 degrees Celsius, before undergoing filtration. No chemicals are added. After filtration the oil is nitrogen blanketed and stored at low temperatures to avoid oxidation. The oil is encapsulated in Non-gelatin capsules providing a well-sealed environment which prevents oxidation and maintains freshness of the oil – this results in a high quality product which is rich in Essential Fatty acids.
Several clinical trials have proven Flax Seed Oil to be beneficial in assisting to reduce fatty plaque build up on the arteries of the heart by 46%, and in doing so benefiting the health of the cardiovascular system. A second trial shows reduced mental performance after dietary restriction of Omega 3 fatty acids. Yet a third trial shows that dietary supplementation with Flax Seed Oil increases Calcium absorption, bone Calcium and bone density. In other words, it may slow the rate of postmenopausal bone loss in many woman and preserve bone density.
