Propolis

Propolis is one of nature’s most powerful compounds, a unique combination of plant bioactives and bee ingenuity. Made by bees from plant resins, propolis is used to protect and sterilise the beehive, where it acts as the immune defence mechanism for the whole hive. Ancient civilisations used propolis for its medicinal properties. Greeks used it to treat abscesses. Assyrians put it on wounds and tumours to fight infection and help the healing process. Egyptians used it to embalm mummies.

Propolis has been said to help fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It may also have anti-inflammatory effects and help skin heal. Propolis has been used for swelling to help inflammation and sores inside the mouth. It is also used for burns, canker sores, diabetes, genital herpes, cold sores and other conditions.
